I was thinking mainly of Stallman being forced to resign from the Free Software Foundation using bad-faith readings of some of his comments. (I do think what he said about Epstein and about minors was dumb, but it's clear from what he actually wrote that he was *advocating* it.) Thankfully, he later returned to the FSF.
